Message from the Chair

Dear Fellow Golden Gate Section Members and Friends

Without a doubt, 2020 has been a difficult year for all of us. The Covid-19 pandemic and recent wildfires in the bay area have compounded the already difficult times faced by our industry. While the current times may feel overwhelming at times, it is important to remember that we are resilient and we have a supportive community of peers and mentors to lean on.

In the midst of all the challenges thrown our way this year, we’ve found bright spots. We’ve discovered new ways to connect and innovate that will help us be even more prepared for the digital, dispersed future ahead of us. Not only are more online opportunities for learning and connecting available than ever before, but as a chapter, we’ve been agile. In April, we were quickly and successfully able to pivot our monthly meeting format to interactive webinars and even held our first virtual social happy hour. These events, while not the same, have been very successful and we look forward to continuing these

I look forward to connecting with each and every one of you virtually, for now, and in-person as soon as we’re able. On that note, if you have ideas for events and other ways we can connect during these challenging times, I am all ears. We are here for you.
monthly gatherings virtually from September to December, giving us all a needed space to learn, engage and interact.
